Many grateful thanks to those who took part in the Wooden Spoon Annual Lottery during 2011.On Monday 12th December, fourteen tickets were drawn by Wooden Spoon's Trustees from over 16,000 returned, and the lucky winners have now been notified.

Pontblyddyn Cricket Club, by some distance Flintshire's most attractive cricket ground, hosted yet another highly successful 20/20 cricket match, the third in the Legends of League v Union Challenge Series. In a pretty wet and dismal August, the day dawned with unusually bright sunshine. This lasted throughout the day, with only a heavy shower just before tea - though the players hardly seemed to notice.

On Thursday 8th September Allied London hosted the 'Allied London Pre-Rugby World Cup Dinner' in aid of the Wooden Spoon Charity.

Bill Hill, CEO of Wooden Spoon, the children's charity of rugby, aims to raise as much money as possible by cycling over 1,200 miles across the length and breadth of the UK this summer to kick start Game On! a new project to help young unemployed teenagers in Northampton, Bath, Bristol and Warrington get a job.

Royal Birkdale was once again a wonderful venue for our second Rugby League v Rugby Union golf challenge sponsored by Seabrook Crisps. The seriously stiff breeze made scoring extremely tough on arguably the finest course in England, though when the sun came out the course looked and played at its majestic best.

A team of Rugby Union Legends hit a team of Rugby League Legends for six in the Spoon charity 20/20 Cricket match in North Wales last weekend.The rain stayed away from the stunning Pontblyddyn cricket ground for a fun family day of action-packed cricket.

The Manchester and Cheshire Committee were pleased to unveil two new projects in their Region recently, both helping other charities who support children in their local communities to enjoy physical activities, providing exercise and fun.

A state-of-the-art traversing climbing wall has been installed at the Children's Adventure Farm Trust at Millington, Cheshire, thanks to a £25,000 donation from Wooden Spoon.
