Leicestershire Regional Chairman Malcolm Foulkes-Arnold began his rugby career at Peterborough moving through schools rugby to join Harlequins at 17 and Leicester Tigers at 22.
He also represented England Students and British Polytechnics. Malcolm Foulkes-Arnold was an all-round athlete good enough to play football and hockey at county schools. He displayed his consistency as a rugby player for more than a decade in the Tigers second row, playing 266 games for Leicester, rarely missing a game once he had established himself among his seniors.
During this time, he was part of the first courage sponsored championship team which went onto become today's premiership. He also played in the John Player cup final against Bristol as well as the Pilkington Cup Final loss 10:6 against Bath.
An Architect, Malcolm Foulkes-Arnold set up his first practice in 1983 and after merging with another established practice in 1985, formed the Foulkes-Arnold and Weston Partnership. This steadily progressed to become even stronger culminating in 1994, with the formation of Corporate Architecture Limited, which he still heads to this day.
The Leicestershire Committee was formed by volunteers at De Montfort Sporting Club Dinner in Leicestershire in September 2000, after the question "why don't you have a Wooden Spoon Committee in Leicestershire, the rugby capital?" was raised by Tony Richards, the former Regional Chairman of Spoon. Having become a member of the committee over 10 years ago he became Chairman in 2003 following the retirement of George Ridgeway and the stepping down of Tony Airey his replacement.
The committee is a vibrant mix of business people with a common aim of raising money to help Leicestershire causes whilst having fun doing to.
So here we are. Please get in touch if you want to know more about the Committee or the fundraising events we are running.
