Enjoy a great afternoon and evening at Temple and help to raise some funds for disadvantaged children and Temple Golf Club's course improvement fund at the same time.

Chilterns Spoon is one of the oldest regions, and has evolved both in shape and in size. Originally established to cover Bucks, Berks, Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire, is has undertaken an hydra-like split itself into 3, with Hertfordshire forming a new county region and most of Oxfordshire together with North Bucks forming into Isis/Cherwell. The rump of the region is based broadly in the Chiltern Hills and the Thames Valley. It is a region blessed with many rugby clubs at all levels, and its membership is mainly drawn from representatives of those clubs.
Like all regions, our primary aim is to raise money for capital projects to improve the lives of disadvantaged youngsters. We have tried do this strategically, by selecting projects which are both meaningful and geographically spread "fairly" throughout the region. For this reason nobody needs to look far to see what sort of pleasure and relief we have delivered. There are several projects where the impacts have reached far beyond the regional boundaries. In particular I allude to: Augmented communication for people with no clear speech capability; Vision Control, which provides a communication method for all those who have no reliably controllable bodily function, other than their eyes; New psychological therapies for emotionally and behaviourly disturbed children that goes a long way to producing "near-normal" neural networks in their brains.
In addition to sporting and recreational events run by the Committee, we have been extremely fortunate in having members who have brought donating events, run by themselves and friends, to help swell the coffers - long may they continue to do so!
In total, over the 20+ years of its existence, the region has invested circa £1 million in some 40 projects.
Our Committee is a vehicle for members who wish to help organise events, and to take part in the decision as to which projects we should invest funds into.
