Daniel Tregunna from Bristol has taken up the challenge of cycling from London to Monte Carlo to raise money for Wooden Spoon.
Nicola Randell

Now well into its second decade, the Bristol and Bath Committee continues to maintain a low key but effective presence in the Region having contributed over £350k to local children ranging from major projects such as Children's Hospice South West and the Claremont School Speech Therapy Unit to more modest but equally welcome contributions to Springboard in Clevedon and the Limes Nursery in Whitehall.
The generosity of our supporters throughout the Region enables us to maintain a pipeline of projects and ensures that Spoon is continuously active in its aim of assisting disadvantaged children.
We have two regular dates in our calendar, our Spring Lunch and our Summer Golf Day, both of which are eagerly anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed. We have run other ad hoc events such as the World Cup Winning Dinner, the ever popular curry nights and are the car park operators of choice for a number of local events. One of our highlights was undoubtedly the opening of one of our projects by Spoon Patron HRH The Princess Royal.
Our committee, small but perfectly formed, meets under our second Regional Chairman Andrew Sheridan who assumed responsibility when Dave Cockerell decided to stand down six years ago. Indeed the core of the committee has been in office since the very much missed Tony Richards wandered into town with an offer we couldn't refuse. We have also been very fortunate in the support we have received from our Regional Presidents Jerry Guscott, Andy Robinson and currently, Ronnie Regan who have all given generously and unobtrusively of their time for which we are most grateful.
We would like to widen our committee base and anyone in the Region interested in becoming involved would be made most welcome at our irregular but usually riotous meetings which, against all odds, do make decisions and allocate actions which foster the ethos of Spoon in Bristol and Bath and make appreciable differences to the lives of our most needy children and young people. Give me a call.
Andrew Sheridan, Chairman Bristol and Bath Committee.
