Wooden Spoon : Regions : Knock-Out Event Benefiting Spoon

Spoon will be the benefiting charity of the White Collar Boxing Gala - Showtime at the Troxy on the 13th May when the proceeds of the auction and raffle will raise funds for the Charity. So come and join in the fun.

The thrill of Vegas comes to East London for the Championship White Collar Boxing Gala, held at the Troxy on 13th May.

The evening will include a reception fit for 'The King' with a guaranteed party atmosphere including bikini-clad babes on a Bucking Bronco, casino and cabaret. The soundtrack will be provided by a sensational live Rat Pack tribute band. Dinner will be served amongst the glitz and glamour style of Vegas.

The show-stopping championship White Collar boxing will be hosted by BBC boxing pundit Steve Bunce, followed by the charity auction for Wooden Spoon. After our boxing finale the evening will conclude with live music.

The Troxy is a 1930s art deco Grade II listed building which prides itself as one of the capitals premier banqueting and live concert venues, renowned for its opulent decor and large sweeping staircases. It has also been used for live stage shows boasting performers such as Vera Lynn, Clark Gable and the Andrews Sisters. This truly magical venue has been lovingly and extensively refurbished and returned to its former glory adding just a hint of modern fusion. It's the perfect setting for the charity Vegas Boxing Gala.

On Tuesday 8th May at Ping Pong on Bread Street, London, Wooden Spoon hosted the infamous Scrum Dine with Me sponsored by Aon Benfield. Nigel Barden, food commentator for Radio 2, was the fantastic host of the event where supporters of Spoon were able to watch rugby legends Phil Vickery MBE, Serge Betsen, Craig Chalmers and Luke Narraway prepare a four course Oriental masterpiece then taste it for themselves. The rugby players then went up against each other to be crowned the 2012 Scrum Dine with Me Champion.

Billed as 'a celebration of Ripon Rugby - Past, Present, and Future', the day kicked off early with a very well supported Mini Tag Rugby demonstration from the youngest members of the Ripon rugby community, Ripon's thriving Junior section. Youngsters from the Under7's and Under 8's all received a Wooden Spoon wristband presented by Ripon legend Peter Squires (England, Yorkshire, Harrogate and Barbarians) ably supported by the Junior Section's founder member Mike Pennock.
