Around the same time, Wooden Spoon Wales opened their Twitter account. A chance sighting by Claire White in Qatar, put the two organisations in touch, and on March 1st 2012, the St David's Society, Qatar was formally launched and raised a massive £1300 for Wooden Spoon Wales, who have become their official adopted charity.
With committee members from Penarth, Caerphilly, Llanelli and North Wales, the society is now looking forward to the final weekend of the RBS 6 Nations and an active year. Wooden Spoon has been able to help with some raffle prizes, and one lucky man has won signed photos of some of the Welsh and Scarlets squad members. (Kindly donated by the Scarlets)
Wooden Spoon Wales looks forward to a long relationship with the St David's Society, Qatar and wishes to thank them for all they are doing for disadvantaged children in Wales.
