The Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge, played host to this year's Carnival themed Wooden Spoon Annual Ball, held on Friday 9th November and sponsored by Pharos offshore. A spectacular evening filled with rhythm dance and stunning entertainment was enjoyed by over 800 guests, who together raised in excess of a quarter of a million (250K) for the Charity.

The 21st of September marked the first ever Wooden Spoon charity fishing day. It was held in perfect conditions at the Lakedown Trout Fishery in East Sussex, owned by pop legend Roger Daltrey of The Who.

On Tuesday 8th May at Ping Pong on Bread Street, London, Wooden Spoon hosted the infamous Scrum Dine with Me sponsored by Aon Benfield. Nigel Barden, food commentator for Radio 2, was the fantastic host of the event where supporters of Spoon were able to watch rugby legends Phil Vickery MBE, Serge Betsen, Craig Chalmers and Luke Narraway prepare a four course Oriental masterpiece then taste it for themselves. The rugby players then went up against each other to be crowned the 2012 Scrum Dine with Me Champion.
