This month, 30 cyclists from across Goodman's UK business will undertake the sponsored challenge of cycling between 14 of the 27 business parks that Goodman owns, develops and manages, covering the length and breadth of the country. Rugby star and Wales defence coach Shaun Edwards OBE, will also take part in one leg of the challenge, to support the worthwhile cause.
The route will start at Edinburgh Broadway on 4th September, taking in numerous Business Parks before concluding at Solent Business Park in Hampshire on 20th September. Covering over 700 miles, the participating teams are drawn from all areas of Goodman's UK business, and the funds raised will support the company's preferred UK charity, Wooden Spoon.
Wooden Spoon is a children's charity, dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and young people across the British Isles live happier, richer lives. It partners with the UK rugby community, to encourage children to take part in team sports, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and bringing the social benefits and team skills associated with the sport.
Jim Johnston, Managing Director, UK Business and Science Parks, Goodman said:
"Wooden Spoon's community programmes provide a unique opportunity for disadvantaged young people to learn the skills and reap the benefits associated with taking part in team sports. This sentiment resonates with Goodman employees and we're thrilled to be able to raise significant funds for this worthwhile cause.
"As with previous challenges we have undertaken to support the charity, the cycle between Parks will require us to work together to reach our final goal and we look forward to celebrating after the final leg at Solent Business Park on 20th September."
