The Great Lakeland Challenge has been the backbone of the Wooden Spoon challenge calendar for the past 14 years. The longest, steepest, highest triathlon in England and one that has encouraged our members to raise essential funds for the charity…and now a team from the Wooden Spoon staff will be doing the same.
On 7th September a team from Wooden Spoon will be taking part in a trial format for the Great Lakeland with staff from several departments taking part in different legs of the triathlon.
First up will be canoeing across Lake Windermere, the longest lake in England. Canoeing a distance of 10 miles though will be a mere snip when compared to the cycling second leg that will see our blokes push their spokes a distance of 26 miles across the steepest pass of the Lake District. Finally the team will run (or crawl) up Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, and all in under 12 hours.
If you'd like to sponsor our team of intrepid challengers, or register interest for future challenges please contact the Wooden Spoon office on 01252 773720. Alternatively you can click on our fundraising page

Best of luck chaps!
