In all 400 cyclists took part for various charities the event having grown over six years from 20 friends raising money for one of their groups daughter who had Leukaemia to the massive numbers this year.
The Leicestershire Spooners all finished which in some cases was a miracle raising an astounding £11500.00. It is all the more impressive when you consider that the timings this year, due to the appalling weather conditions, were some three hours slower than 2011!
After the physical exertions of this year's event it may be difficult to cajole as many people to join our team. It may be best to approach potential cyclist at a moment of weakness like at the later stages of our forth coming Octoberfest luncheon/dinner scheduled for October 12th .
A great effort by the whole team which has raised a significant amount towards our next project in Leicestershire.
