It should be seen as a testament to the pedigree of the Kinsale 7s that so many International sides competed in the event, with both the Irish and French sides giving the 4,000 spectators a master class in 7s rugby. However, the Spoon Ladies showed they were more than capable of competing against the top European nations by reaching the final with relative ease before losing out to the Irish.

Of course Wooden Spoon Rugby is more than just about winning rugby matches and we're pleased to announce that through tournament winnings, our players fundraising efforts and of course the magnificent support and donations we received from our partners at the Kinsale 7s we raised a four figure sum for the charity.
