Nigel Redman tells a tale or two..............
Geoff Miller is rightly gaining a tremendous reputation as an after dinner speaker when his day job as Chairman of the England Cricket Selectors allows. He didn't wish to expound upon England's current plight in the series with Pakistan but delivered a wonderfully funny and self deprecating speech of the highest order. Geoff has become a great friend of Yorkshire Spoon and we look forward to the next time he can join us.

Geoff Miller keeping the guests enthralled!
Roger Dakin once again held the evening together in his inimitable style and fund of gags that kept the audience highly amused throughout. He also managed to wring as much as possible from the auction and game of "higher and lower" where guests were invited to signal their answer to a question with a higher or lower estimation. Committee member Steve Burnhill's win of one of these games was greeted with some derision by assembled guests who wrongly imagined some collusion with the MC. As if we would!

MC Roger Dakin keeps everyone in order.

Our good friends from FUN-RAISING were on hand to run the silent auction which contained 44 items for or guests to indulge themselves. Along with 17 new members on the night, proceeds are expected to be in the region of £10,000. The Yorkshire Spoon committee is delighted to announce that this sum will be added to previous funds raised in Sheffield to go towards two projects in the Steel City thus repeating the Spoon mantra of money raised in the area is spent in the area!
We all look forward to doing it all again next year when we shall hold the 6th Six Nations' Dinner at Baldwin's Omega!
