The Mayor of Stevenage joined World Cup star Richard Hill MBE in the latest project opening in Hertfordshire. Greenside is a special school for 114 pupils aged 2 to 19 years who have severe or profound learning difficulties and live in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire.
It is located in a conservation area within South Stevenage known as
Shephall Green and although it benefits from a
first class warm water pool, the school was badly in need of updated and enlarged changing rooms,
not only for pupils but also volunteer parent helpers. Spoon was delighted to donate
£15,000 towards the new changing rooms which have already made a big difference by facilitating and maximising the use of the warm water pool, which is in itself of
tremendous therapeutic benefit for many pupils.
