Celebrations were attended by a record number of 130 supporters of Wooden Spoon and were held in a marquee next to the public house. The Leicestershire committee displayed the regalia associated with the day. The four course feast included the traditional food of soup, roast beef and homemade spotted dick accompanied by local real ale.

The Tigers President Peter Wheeler, ex Tigers and England captain and now the Tigers Rugby Director welcomed the guests and entertained them with a few anecdotes of his playing times. The guests were also entertained by a trio of musicians Ron, Mike and Ffion who along with the audience recreated a mixture of the Good Old Days and the Last Night of the Proms. A raffle and the proceeds from other sources associated with the event raised more than £6,000.
