The Gloucestershire Region was formed approximately 10 years ago. Initially the main fundraising event was an Annual Golf Day but now the committee have added a wide variety of events including an Annual Book Launch Dinner, Polo, St Georges Day Dinner and, through the strong links with Gloucester Rugby, an annual Meet the Players evening at Kingsholm Stadium. This year the committee initiated a new event, a Membership evening at Gloucester Rugby Cub, which included a question and answer session with current Gloucester players.

The region is organised by an active committee of 12, each offering a mix of skills, with Tim Heal taking on the role of Regional Chairman. The committee appointed David Corbett as the Project Coordinator and Ann Short as the Secretary. Fundraising projects recently supported include the construction of a new riding arena for Watershed RDA (Riding for Disabled) at Coates in Cirencester at a cost of £40,000; and a Sensory Garden at St Roses Special School in Stroud at a cost of £75,000. The current fundraising project is in support of St James's City Farm in Tredworth. St James's is an inner city community project in a socially deprived area of Gloucester and where Spoon Gloucestershire are endeavouring to raise up to £40,000 for the construction of a new riding arena.
