Something fishy going on at Spoon

Join us for a fabulous day of fly fishing in aid of Wooden Spoon, on Friday 21st September.Rugby celebrities and Wooden Spoon sporting ambassadors attending this year include Phil Vickery, former England captain and a member of England's World Cup winning squad in 2003 and Richard Hill, rugby union coach and former English international rugby player.
Male and female fishing enthusiasts of all abilities including novices are invited to take part in two man tag-team events for a fantastic day of fly fishing in the beautiful location of Lakedown Trout Fishery, Sussex in aid of Wooden Spoon the Children's Charity of Rugby on Friday 21st September.
Owned by pop legend Roger Daltrey of The Who, the 26 acre site provides four spring-fed lakes, where participants of all abilities can fish together with celebrities from the world of Rugby and take part in various competitions, including the heaviest catch and the Spoon tiddler of the day.
The cost is £170 for a team of two. Individual entries at £85 are welcomed. A team partner will be arranged for individual entrants. Entry fees includes:
Tackle provided if required
Instructor will be on hand throughout the day
Bacon butties and tea/coffee in the morning
2 course lunch and drinks
4 fish from your catch to take home
Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
Please bring a hat and sunglasses

What a way to kick off our 30th anniversary celebrations other than in the Algarve led by our new Golf Ambassador Lee Mears. Wooden Spoon voyaged to Portugal on the 25th April for our first 2 day golf tournament at the Le Meridien Penina Hotel Golf & Resort. The event successfully raised funds for Spoon and we hope to host another alike in the near future. A huge thank you is in order to Arthur J Gallagher International, without their generosity this event would not have been as successful as it was. Further special thanks are owed to our rugby players Lee Mears, Harry Ellis, Shaun Perry, David Trick, Paul Burke and Jeremy Pugh who made this an event to remember.
