The evening began with a Champagne and canapé reception, a welcome and thanks from Suzie Haworth, Senior Corporate Development Director for Wooden Spoon, followed by speeches from Bill Hill CEO of Wooden Spoon, Albert Maasland Chairman of Saxo Bank and the great Jeremy Guscott.
In keeping with the Olympic theme what followed was the most inspirational Q&A session, where we were joined by two extremely determined athletes, two athletes that have faced some of the most difficult challenges in life, the absolutely fabulous Tom Aggar reigning Paralympics and World Champion in the ASM single scull boat class, and Steve Brown Captain of the Great Britain wheelchair rugby team. Both these incredible athletes gave us an insight into their daily training and their sporting aspirations, Steve also took a moment to explain why his sport used to go by the unsettling name of Murderball!
Guests were then able to enjoy further hospitality, served by the catering team at the ICU, while they were able to socialise with other guests.
Special thanks must go to our truly inspiration Q&A panel Tom Aggar, Steve Brown and Jeremy Guscott, to Albert Maasland and to Saxo Bank for hosting such an enjoyable evening and also for their continued support of the Ambassadors programme.
