Led by Suzie Haworth, the new Suffolk region includes Elizabeth Holland as Secretary, Ali Chadwick as Treasurer, David Ives (formerly of the neighbouring Kent Committee) and Chris Haworth. They are growing but are still looking for any Suffolk Spooners who would like to get involved. They are searching for a Treasurer in particular, so if you are good with figures, this could be the committee for you!  As an added benefit, all Suffolk members will receive a quarterly Newsletter from the Committee updating them on events, proposed projects and any other relevant news.

The committee aims to host at least three or four good fundraising events a year in order to raise significant funds for disadvantaged children in Suffolk. See the events calendar to see what they are already planning to hold in 2007! Additionally, for 2008 they are looking at holding a Sporting Day - either Golf or Cricket, a House and Garden Tour, A Summer Ball and a large scale Treasure Hunt!

The committee would like to thank Mrs Adam Kendrik for her kind generosity in helping this burgeoning regional Spoon committee. The money raised in memory of Adam Kendrik is now at £31,000.  This most gratefully received donation along with proceeds from events held before Christmas 2006 means that the region already has approximately £34,000 to spend on local children and young people. As a distinct region, their first proposed project is to provide partial funding for a new Well Being Centre for disadvantaged children in Suffolk to be built at the Priory School, Bury St Edmunds.
