Guests were welcomed pitch side with a glass of champagne and the Treorchy Male Voice Choir before the DVD was viewed on the stadiums large screens. Upstairs in the suite guests, who included world record goal kicker Neil Jenkins and Wooden Spoon Honorary President and Lions, Wales & Cardiff's Bob Norster, were treated to a three course meal and further entertainment from the choir, before another chance to view the DVD.
Following a welcome from Geoff Morris, speakers from both DVD sponsors, Lloyds TSB Asset Finance Division and SA Brain pledge their continued support to the charity. Andy Henderson Head Teacher from Rhondda Special School followed and thanked the companies for their support and spoke of his relationship with Wooden Spoon and how grateful he was to receive a £50,000 donation for a sensory garden, which has help improve the environment for the pupils.
BBC sports commentator Phil Steele rounded off a great evening with stories of some his most memorable commentary moments. Phil who is also a part time school teacher at Lewis Girls school in Ystrad Mynach was also presented with a special white board which will be used in his classroom.
The aim of the evening was to showcase the new DVD and the work of the Spoon to the business heads of South Wales, but there was also a chance to further boost the welsh pot with a raffle for a holiday donated by spoon supporter Ray Warren, which went onto raise an impressive £1,417.
Bob Harris National Co-ordinator said " The event, being the first of its kind for Wooden Spoon in Wales was a major success.
