For the second year running we were very pleased to welcome some of the staff and pupils from the Welcombe Hills School who watched the first team tee off. Those who were present last year noticed just how some of the children’s health had deteriorated. Those with debilitating illnesses were visibly worse of as their illnesses matured. It really brought home the importance of Spoon's work.

The winning team was captained Pat McKeown who was very pleased to go on and represent Warwickshire in the golf finals. His team faired well in the torrential rain to finish second overall. As always at Spoon golf days there is one team that is awarded, ‘the team that played the most golf award’ that was presented to the Arden Direct team captained by Sally Hollis. A great day was rounded off in style as soprano vocalist Belinda Evans (in her first public performance since appearing in the ‘How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria’ television show) lead the singing with a number of classical and rugby songs.

Many thanks to all those who supported our second golf day, it was another great success raising another £3,000 for projects in Warwickshire.
