Over 150 people enjoyed a 4-course meal and a very entertaining speech by ex-England rugby player Jeff Probyn. Tony Richards, the Deputy Chief Executive of Wooden Spoon and Somerset Committee member, was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening, during which a presentation was made to Allan
Covey as a thank you for his work as the Chairman of Wooden Spoon in Somerset for 15 years.
Presentations were also made to Source Financial Limited and Wilkie May & Tuckwood, being the two newest members of Somerset's 1st XV Team which supports Wooden Spoon financially every year. The
fun and fundraising for Wooden Spoon was excellent and on the night a brilliant £6,100 was raised from the tickets, auction and a prize draw. The money will be spent in Somerset to support disadvantaged children and young people. Current projects include Westhaven School in Weston-super-Mare and
the Priory Special School in Taunton.
