| Guernsey Golf Day is Another "Classic" |

| The 2006 Guernsey Spoon Golf Classic was held on Friday 15th September enjoying as usual, fine warm weather. |

 There were 40 teams representing 160 players in attendance, who all enjoyed a great day of golf. The winning team, seen above proudly went home with the best score. Plenty of help was on hand to ensure the day ran smoothy with David Packman, of the Guernsey Committee and Jaine Vermeulen, Secretary of the La Mare Golf & Country Club (both seen to left) efficiently running the practical side of the tournament. In the evening, 315 players and guests enjoyed the Gala Dinner with Guest Speaker Garath Chilcott entertaining the mixed audience with both humour and style. Barry Williams, as always, was a fantastic MC and with his well-reknowned auctioner's skills ensured the majority of lots achieved above their expected returns! It was a great day overall and the whole event raised £15,500 for disadvantaged youth in Guernsey. |
