 After a great day’s golf on the Rudding Park golf course the 28 teams were joined by their partners, yet more Emmerdale celebrities and other Spoon supporters for a gala dinner at Rudding Hall. After a champagne reception the 260 guests squeezed into the stunningly decorated ballroom for dinner.
Jon Hammond and Ian Robertson shared the honours as MCs for the night’s entertainment and fundraising activities. During dinner the guests were entertained by three magicians, Harry Robson, Russel Brown and Shaun McCree.
After dinner entertainment was provided by comedian and illusionist Paul Zenon with a great act that fully involved selected members of the audience. The evening was rounded off with dancing to Mirage, an excellent five piece band featuring a superb female lead vocalist.
 The event is expected to raise more than £23,000 for Wooden Spoon helped by the great generosity of event sponsor Black Sheep Brewery of Masham run by Paul Theakston and his wife Sue.
Wooden Spoon is indebted to Emmerdale’s Line Producer, Tim Fee for all the support he gives to the event in a variety of ways including providing auction prizes, hole sponsors and the lighting of the ballroom. Tim Fee has been a great friend of Spoon, allowing the charity to benefit from the money raised at Emmerdale Golf Classic for the last five years. Helen Knowles and her team look forward to working with Tim on another spectacular event for next year – Sunday 16th September 2007.
