| Essex Autumn Dinner |

| The Essex Committee held a successful Autumn Dinner at the Southend Rugby Football Club on 6 October. |

 Ian Irving entertained the assembled company of one hundred guestw with fifty minutes of brilliance on the evening. The event, thanks to generous donations of auction and raffle prizes, raised £2579. The current Essex project at PARC in Braintree will therefore benefit by over £5000. Represented at the gathering were Presidents and Chairmen of 15 different local sporting clubs and organisations who regularly give welcome support to The Spoon. Michael Stiers, our auctioneer, performed at his professional and amusing best and the talented Stradbrook Ladies signed up 11 new members, which probably meant that 95% of those present left the evening as Members - although one or two may not have realised it!!! |
