Making Merry in Merseyside
After a re-organisation of the Committee and a new Chairman taking the helm, the first event of the year was held in June - a hugely successful Sporting Dinner at Waterloo Rugby Club.

Regional Chairman from across the Mersey, Charlie Womersley did a fantastic job as the MC. Other entertainment came from Lee Broderick who sang and played his acoustic guitar that went down a treat, especially as he was appearing at no charge. Thank you Lee.

Gareth Davies was a great mix of the intellectual and the funny, plying the crowd with his Welsh sense of humour and Austin Knight, the comedian had everyone in stitches. Thank you from the Committee to everyone who supported the evening, in particular, Pat Hughes the photographer who donated her services to Wooden Spoon.

It was a successful evening and everyone enjoyed themselves tremendously. All the funds raised will go to support the Region’s next project that is presently awaiting approval by Spoon Council. But all going well, disabled children in Merseyside will be enjoying new riding facilities in the near future.

If anyone would like more details about the Committee or want to support the next fundraising event - the Regional Golf Day on 7th September at Houghwood Golf Club, please contact Sharon
