When the family heard about the work that Spoon does, they were more than happy to nominate Hertfordshire Spoon as the beneficiary of this year's party. 135 people attended the Ball, and with a theme of "Uniforms" there was a wide range of costumes on show. Two live bands entertained the guests and a three course meal was served in a magnificently decorated marquee. A game of Heads and Tails was followed by an auction, both run by Mark Elliott who is a member of the Hertfordshire branch of Spoon.
Neil and Sam worked hard to ensure that some superb prizes were donated for the auction, including a custom made set of Ping golf clubs, a flight in a bi-plane and a limited edition picture from last year's Ashes series. Thanks to the generosity of the guests, these two events and the sale of the Spoon bears displayed on the tables raised just over £5,400 for the charity. The Committee was represented at the Ball by Mark & Heather Elliott and by Chris Pool and his wife Suzie (as seen above).
Wooden Spoon is grateful to the Gray family and all their guests for making a great evening even better by choosing to benefit local children!
