| Wooden Spoon Yorkshire is currently supporting the project at Super League team Wakefield Trinity Wildcats funding the new Learning Zone facility under the “Playing for Success” banner. The cheque presentation was a fantastic event for Spoon and introduced the Charity to a major audience within the Super League environment. St Helens are currently top of the Super League and had nine GB internationals on show. Both teams also signed rugby balls for Spoon to auction at later events.
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats gave Edward and his family a fantastic day out and Mark Winder the Learning Zone Manager was first class, he gave Spoon a great platform and PR opportunity. The game was televised on Sky Sports so the awareness of Wooden Spoon in rugby league circles is growing! There will have a formal opening of the facility in September.
Edward Jennings is one of the founder members of the Yorkshire Committee and a stalwart of the Wooden Spoon Four Peaks Challenge. Edward and his family accepted the kind invitation from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats to attend a high profile game (St Helens are currently the leading club in Super League). It was an outstanding match with the Wildcats staying in close contention until the last 15 minutes. Spoon enjoyed a great deal of publicity whilst Edward and his family thoroughly enjoyed the kind and generous hospitality of the club. Our thanks go to Mark Winder, Learning Zone Manger for organising a great afternoon for Wooden Spoon and the Jennings family.
