It also offers family support services including out of school activities and day and overnight leisure breaks. The centre offers services ranging from physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and occupational therapy to speech and language therapy.  Additional services include out-of-school activities, a Family Link and Befriending Scheme, and day and overnight leisure breaks in the Cottage or in the family home. Also in attendance at the opening, as seen to the left, were Margaret Beringer, David Jackson, Brian Hodges and Philip Blunden, all of Wooden Spoon.

In his speech, John, seen above with White Lodge patron, Chesney Hawkes, praised all who were involved at the Centre and who were so dedicated in their work. As has become his custom, after he had performed the official opening ceremony he tried out all the equipment with the children and was then shown round the Centre. A day made memorable for all those children who were present, and their enjoyment of the new equipment was very clear.
