Spoon gave £10,000 for the building of the special playground. CYCES is a registered independent special school, maintained by the Together Trust.  It offers provision for boys and girls aged between 8-16 years with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The College’s Principal, Steve Grimley, quoted “The new play area will be fantastic for our children especially in the winter months. Up to now the outside play area in the winter has been wet and muddy affecting everything from entrance hall, classrooms and children's clothes. The help from Wooden Spoon will mean next winter will be cleaner, dryer and more fun.'

Charlie Womersley added “We wanted to support a fantastic cause which reflected the use of locally raised funds.  We knew that by supporting the Trust we would be making a big difference for young people to enjoy the improved sports facilities at the CYCES Service in Cheadle.”  To find out more about the school, click here.
