| Birkett House Special School Extension Opening was formally unveiled in 2005. |

| World Cup Captain and Wooden Spoon Champion, Martin Johnson, opened £250,000 extension to Birkett House Special school. This second major project for Leicestershire spoon was only possible through £95,000 grant for the 'Wooden Spoon Suite' building.
