For the period of an hour Spoon totally dominated the centre stage in Dubai with the three teams playing back-to-back finals. It was a great way to promote the Charity in front of so many rugby fans.

The FNZ Wooden Spoon Vets comprising former representative players participated in the International Vets Ten's and progressed through to the final after a hard fought game against the Bali Legends. Only a sneaky drop goal by Dan Eddie could separate the two teams. In the final for the third consecutive year the Vets again met the star-studded Christina Noble team. Once again the Vets had to settle for runner-up status as they succumbed to a 40-7 defeat.
