 Having totted up 29 caps for Wales, former British Lions and Wales fly-half, Phil Bennett, provided an entertaining and amusing talk for guests at the 6th Wooden Spoon Ball at Plymouth Albion RFC on Friday 10th July 2009. The evening’s Master of Ceremonies, David Fitzgerald (seen at left) ensured the all went according to plan and that those bidding for the auction items ‘dug deep’ into their pockets in support of Wooden Spoon.
For the 190 attending the evening would not have been complete without dancing to Joey the Lips and dance, they did!As in previous years the 2009 Plymouth Summer Ball was hailed a great success. Kevin Norris, who masterminded the introduction of the ball to the annual Team Devon events calendar, was delighted that once again, guests, businesses, individuals and friends had made the evening a winner for Wooden Spoon.
