 Wooden Spoon has been raising money for 25 year’s and one of the highlights in its event calendar is the annual ball held at the prestigious London Hilton Hotel Park Lane. Recognised as one of the leading social events in London the ball is an evening of conspicuous extravagance where supporters of the Wooden Spoon come together to enjoy themselves and let there hair down. The theme for this year’s ball is ‘Friday Night Fever’ and the evening’s entertainment reflects this and is a homage to John Travolta, the Bee Gees and Disco dancing.
When you enter the ballroom you will be taken back in time to the 70’s where disco and dancing was king! The evening starts with a fabulous drinks reception before making your way to the themed grand ballroom where you will enjoy a succulent 4-course meal plus coffee and chocolates prepared by the Hilton’s award winning executive chef, Anthony Marshall. You will be entertained throughout the evening with a mixed variety of entertainmant and have the chance of participating in the raffle where you could win a new Ford car or a year’s supply of quality beer. In addition there are a number of excellent and unusual life style auction items which you can secure with an appropriate bid and a silent auction where more modest items are on offer.
And if your energy starts to flag, at 12.30 am on Saturday, a breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs, croissant, tea and coffee is served in the Harvest room. Energy levels returned, you can dance the night away until 2.30am when reluctantly the evening ends. So if you want to party, why not join us for a night of unrivalled quality and entertainment not to be missed and at the same time help in raising some cash for our various projects to enhance the lives of young people disadvantaged either physically, mentally or socially.
The annual Spoon ball is one of the major fund raising events in our calendar and over the last 25 years has raised in excess of £3.5m.
