Springboard opened in Clevedon in 1986 and has another centre in Weston-Super-Mare, both of which provide support to pre-school children with additional needs and their families in the North Somerset area.

The Bristol and Bath Wooden Spoon Committee was formed eight years ago and has raised in excess of £1/4million, all of which has been used to fund capital projects in the region. Stuart Hetherington of Wooden Spoon said ‘we are delighted to be able to help Springboard in such a practical way – the new resources unit frees up lots of valuable space at the centre enabling children, parents and staff to get the best use of their facilities.’
