| Spells and Broomsticks at Pumpkin Ball |
| On Friday, 31 October spells were cast on the Wooden Spoon, Pumpkin Ball to ensure that Halloween 2008 was a night to remember. |

| Ghostly greetings and spells were cast at 7.30 when guests sipped spooky cocktails. The Halloween dinner was certainly a ‘treat’ for guests, after which they stepped into the ‘wizardry world’ of the Casino Cauldron and bone shaking dancing. After much ‘trick or treat’ fun, guests gathered together for the witching hour at midnight to ward off ‘Evil Spirits’ and enjoy bacon butties . When all the ghosts had been banished, the evening continued with DJ Pete Miles and more dancing to the Basher Tate Sound. Adding to the evening’s treats, Team Devon’s Chairman Bruce Priday, presented special ‘thank you’ awards to corporate sponsors , ROK and South West Telecoms in recognition of their contribution to Wooden Spoon. Spells ceased at 1.a.m. when broomsticks arrived for the journey home.
