|
| A record number of people attended the annual Gloucestershire Book Launch dinner at the Gloucester Rugby Club in Kingsholm, to raise funds for Spoon's upcoming project at St Rose’s Special School in Stroud. |

| Over three-hundred people attended the event and raised £14,000, which is a record amount raised by the event. The dinner was sponsored by Goodman International, the developer of Gloucester Business Park. The dinner always attracts top speakers from the world of rugby and this year was no exception, with former Welsh rugby International and British Lion Scott Quinnell and former England rugby International David Trick addressing guests at the dinner. The money raised will go towards a new sensory garden for St Rose's Special School in Stroud. Tim Heal, partner at property consultancy Alder King organized the dinner. He commented: “The dinner was a fantastic success and helped to raise a record amount for St Rose’s Special School. Thanks go to the Gloucestershire business community for their support and generosity and to our speakers and also Goodman, who kindly sponsored the event. The Alderman Knight School was the 2007 chosen cause for the Gloucestershire branch of the Wooden Spoon. The charity raised enough money for the school to build a new multi-use games area for the children to enjoy."
