32 Saracens stalwarts, including Nigel Wray (chairman of Saracens Ltd), Richard Hill (club vice-president and England and Lions flanker) and Ravenscroft, the former Sarries and England centre who takes over from Lee Adamson as president at the end of this month, attended the reunion.
Ravenscroft, a solicitor, had a club career which spanned the amateur and open eras, and he also turned out for London Welsh. He played in Tests against Australia and New Zealand in 1998. He has played for Spoon since 2005 and is instrumental in the organisation of the SpoonA-As v Richmond game, now a regualr fixture, held in February.
He received good wishes from Adamson – who is also the Rugby Football Union’s development officer for Eastern Counties – and six other past presidents. |
