| The Old Giggleswickians face the might of the Wooden Spoon Anti-Assassins this Sunday in a match that the OGs will want to win to reverse last year’s 29-12 defeat.
The OGs will be well represented from clubs in the region including Wharfedale, North Ribblesdale, and Skipton as well as those travelling from clubs further afield.
The AAs will be fielding a quality line up including Jon Eagle (ex Yorkshire, Barbarians & Leeds), Craig Emmerson (ex Yorkshire & current Halifax Coach), Tim Fourie (ex South Africa B, Leeds Tykes & current Sedgeley Park Director of Rugby), Carlos Hussain (ex Leeds Rhinos) and representatives from club rugby drawn from Huddersfield, Harrogate, Sedgeley Park, Preston Grasshoppers, Waterloo, Halifax & Leeds. President of the Wooden Spoon Yorkshire Region is one John Bentley (ex England Rugby League & Rugby Union, British Lions, Leeds & Newcastle Falcons).
The Old Giggleswickians are hoping to raise over £1,000 from the day.
Admission is free on the gate, at which the Wooden Spoon Almanac can be obtained from the Spoon volunteers for a donation.
The Old Giggleswickians are hoping for a bumper crowd to enjoy the champagne rugby, to match the fantastic display of last year.
