Devon Girls on Top
Their target was to raise £15,000 for the Wooden Spoon; this meant that Trudy Priday, Heather Smith, Sarah Evans and Penny Plackett had to rise to the challenge of scaling the heights of four peaks, in four countries in 48hours! Could they do this, of course they could.

No ALT tag specifiedSheer guts and determination saw the girls ascend the peaks of Ben Nevis, Hellvelyn, Snowdon and Carantouill within the time scale. Carantouill had an added challenge for them in the form of the notorious Devil’s Ladder (seen at left). Donning the ‘hard hats’ needed for this leg (supplied by Rok), the girls successfully negotiated Devil’s Ladder and were delighted to reach the summit.  Prior to setting off for this mammoth task the girls decided that they would mark their arrival at the final summit by scattering dried rose petals in memory of Malcolm Baker, Devon Wooden Spoon Secretary, who died suddenly in 2007. Having reached the final summit, they did what they had planned and with rose petals drifting in the breeze the girls shed tears of sadness, pride and joy.

Now back on level ground, the girls are well on the way to reaching their £15,000 target. Without the support and encouragement of their main sponsors: Armada, Ashley House, Financial & Taxation Consultants and Stalite Signs the girls would not have been able to rise to, and complete the challenge. They have sent a huge thank you, not only to their main sponsors, but also to their other corporate and individual sponsors who supported their efforts during this life changing challenge!

THEY DID IT, WELL DONE GIRLS.
