Join in the rugby fun at the Spoon benefiting event
May 2008 marks the third anniversary of the tragic passing of Aaron Boyce, a talented 16 year old rugby player. A Sevens tournament is being hosted at Moseley Rugby Club as a memorial and Spoon is proud to be one of the benefiting charities.

Aaron’s family has stong links with both Selly Oak and Moseley Rugby Clubs who after the success of the last two tournaments will again be running this tournament and fun family day out in Aaron’s memory.

The rugby will be played on four pitches throughout the day, moving to Moseley’s showcase pitch for the semi-finals, plate final and cup final.  After the rugby and presentations are complete the evening barbecue will be lit and Fat Ankles (a local Oasis Tribute Band) will start playing in the clubhouse.

Since the first tournament in 2006 the event has donated in excess of £15,000, to Guide Dogs via the Aaron Boyce Tribute Fund. This year, in addition to raising money for Guide Dogs, things have taken a positive rugby orientated twist, with Wooden Spoon coming on board as a rugby orientated charity.  All proceeds raised this year, will therefore, be split equally between Guide Dogs and Wooden Spoon.

Come and join in the fun and support two great charities as well as watching a wonderful day of rugby
