During the day, John Nicoll was also presented with a cheque from the HRFC under 14 group Juniors who had raised £340 for the charity on their recent tour to Cork in Eire (see above). Wooden Spoon are contributing over £40,000 towards a Fitness Room at Pinewood School, just a few yards from the Rugby Club. Hertford RFC has many WS members, who have been very supportive since the inception of the Hertfordshire region of Wooden Spoon just 5 years ago.

In Memoriam

John Creasey, who died last week, was President of Hertford RFC for over years, and was also, for many years,  Chairman of Governors at Pinewood. He was well known in rugby circles as an excellent after dinner speaker, and a strong supporter of the Wooden Spoon. His family have asked that John's many friends should donate to the Wooden Spoon , rather than flowers. Fred James, a lifelong supporter of the Harlequins RFC died recently. His son Mike, a Hertforshire member raised £620 in donations from the friends of his father, again as an alternative to flowers.
