Wooden Spoon was able to provide the seed funding for a Sensory room at the school, which attracted additional donations from the Philip Green Memorial Trust and the Wolfson Foundation.

With the help of our charity, the school was, within 18 months of starting fundraising, able to open a new building! Offering a wide range of light, sound and touch resources, the room (seen at left) is used by all the pupils as art of their day to day learning. Richard Hill, Head of the school said “The pupils, staff, parents and governors of Colnbrook School are forever in the Wooden Spoon's debt. We hope that the relationship that we have developed …will never end and that they now consider themselves to be a part of the Colnbrook family!”

St. Elizabeth's is a centre for children and adults suffering from epilepsy. It is split into a residential home for adults and a mainly residential home and school for about 60 children. The Centre asked Wooden Spoon to sponsor a "Sports Court ", which is a rubberised surface, enclosed by a high fence and floodlit. The donation from Spoon was £13,400 and now with the multi-purpose area, children can play forms of football, basketball, rugby, hockey, netball without fear of injury. At the opening, St. Elizabeth’s made the Spoon team very welcome and expressed their gratitude to the charity.
