| This year the Spoon supporters decamped to the boat called the Waterman. On board, Edwin Heath, a local solicitor, Spoon member, and member of the London Welsh Male Voice Choir brought his trumpet along – which apparently he had not played since he was a schoolboy – and it showed! But Edwin took to the impromptu role of stand-up comedian, using his trumpet as a stage prop. He had everyone on board in stitches and made the journey on the river all the more merry!
This year the river was close to flood conditions and hence the boat was not able to move out of the Henley Reach, as the locks were kept closed. In spite of the relative lack of movement, everyone had a good time and the net funds raised should reach £1250 to be spent on children locally.
