No ALT tag specifiedTNT employees visited a Spoon project at Reynald's Cross on the 7th of December. Spoon helped the special needs school in Solihull through a £21,000 donation towards a soft play area. The visit went spectacularly well with staff seeing the results of their donations through the smiles of the children.

Pat Thompson, from within the Express Finance division, said "The visit was very enlightening, seeing the children enjoying the playground facilities was excellent and the money Wooden Spoon have donated to this project was very well spent and well deserved by the school who obviously care a great deal for their pupils and give them excellent care and tuition.  The assembly was a delight, it was wonderful to see everyone joining in and taking so much pleasure in the experience. The £1 donations we make and all the work we put into organising fund raising events seem more worthwhile than ever."

Her sentiments were echoed by her colleague Dave James who said "What can I say - only that I felt very humbled by the dedication of the staff and the enthusiasm of the students, I thoroughly enjoyed this morning's visit, the Spoon certainly gets my stamp of approval investing in projects such as this; the play area is a great asset to the school and a great source of entertainment for the students."

Ian Boyle added "A picture says a thousand words, but no picture can truly express the enjoyment and excitement of the children in their playground. To see at first hand the difference the Wooden Spoon has made here makes every penny donated worthwhile. Reynalds Cross School is doing a tremendous job and it was a priveledge to be invited to take part in their school assembly, 'seeing at first hand is truly believing'."

Leon Hall, also of TNT felt "This is a very enjoyable and informative visit, its amazing to see what the Wooden Spoon have done for this school  and the impact its had on the children. Definitely a recommended visit for TNT employees to see how much this charity puts a smile on the children's faces. Its a good feeling to know that my contributions over the years to the Wooden Spoon has brought happiness to so many people".

Theresa Harwood finished the visit with the words "I was amazed by the personal commitment from Wooden Spoon, especially regional chairman Phil Pemble. It is unbelievable the amount of  time and effort that is put into giving these children the best possible chance of leading a normal life.  It was overwhelming to see the pleasure it gives the children, and to think that my £1 here and there has helped to make such a difference to these children's lives, if not at Reynalds Cross School then at another similar project.  The dedication of the staff really shows from the responses of the children, money can't buy this but it can help sustain and improve their surroundings and equipment that is required to continue their fantastic work. Well done Wooden Spoon !"
