| Our regional Chairman, David Jackson, attended the official drive in on 7th October, where both captains have to use a hickory handled driver. Each of them sent the ball winging down the 16th fairway towards a forest of named lollipop sticks marking the point at which the members attending thought they would finish up – the stick just on the edge of the tee caused a certain amount of amusement! Thus the start of their fund raising activities.
There followed a well supported competition followed by lunch at which we were able to explain more about Spoon, its history and mission. We wish club Captains, John Rundell and Sheila Ellis (seen above) well in the forthcoming year and will be joining in some of their activities – watch this space!
