Mrs. Lea and Jai Purewal (Wooden Spoon Education Co-coordinator) visited a number of local schools and businesses ahead of Spoon’s fundraising initiative Shirts4Spoon, where pupils and staff were asked to wear their favourite sports or bad taste shirt for the day, making a donation to Spoon in the process.

Eight primary schools – Astbury, Daven, Blackfirs, Marlfields, Mossley, Havannah, Church Lawton and Scholar Green were able to support the event and also a number of local businesses. Several members of the Thursday Coffee Morning League at AMF Bowl in Macclesfield also took part as did Macclesfield accountants, Harts LLP. On the Saturday Congleton’s1st XV players dressed up in ladies blouses (seen above) so there were lots of men raiding wardrobes and scouring the charity shops in town for something to wear! All the fines for the day plus the proceeds of a raffle raised £110
