Wooden Spoon runners line up every year for the prestigious London Marathon. They are either holders of one of our 15 Golden Bond places, committing to raise an agreed minimum amount or have secured a place in the public ballot and have chosen to raise funds for Spoon.
We ask everyone interested to apply for a public ballot place to maximize the number of Spoon runners we can have in the race. From 12pm, Sunday 13th April 2008, the online registration for places in the 2009 event will be open at http://www.london-marathon.co.uk/ We also ask you to contact the Spoon challenges team so we can make a note of your contact details. Once the public ballot is drawn in December, we then contact you to see if you still need a place and enter you into our own ballot for places.
Watched by millions of people across the world and cheered on by half a million supporters who line the streets, Spoon runners who take up the 26.2 mile challenge, are supported every step of the way by the challenge team. Fundraising is made easier by your own page on the http://www.spoonchallenges.com/ website with links through to your http://www.justgiving.com/ fundraising page.
