Thankfully the rain held off, allowing the teams to really get into the swing of things as they tackled a damp 18-holes. Mid-way round, a putting challenge ably marshaled by Mike Eland raised an impressive £450 won by John Dyson of the Pertemps team.

The fundraising continued well into the evening after dinner with host David Trick and Honorary President David Duckham auctioning off an array of prizes, including signed sporting items generously donated by Wonderland Memorabilia, for a grand total of £1750.

The evening concluded with a one-off special auction item where funds were raised for the RNLI. Chairman Phil Pemble explained,” The region looks for opportunities to work with other charities to mutual benefit, after raising so much at our own golf day it was good that we could help someone else.
