Welcombe Hills School, in Stratford upon Avon is the result of a merger of two all age special schools; one for pupils with moderate learning difficulties and one for pupils with severe learning difficulties, in September 2000. Until September 2002 the school operated on split sites, secondary and primary, whilst one site was refurbished and had new accommodation built on to the existing site. This meant that for many pupils it was their third school change in two years.
The Warwichshire Region is looking to raise a total of £25,000 to create and build a sensory garden for the pupils to enjoy and use to further their development.
As a region we have so far run a highly successful golf day at Ingon Manor Golf and Country Club, near Stratford upon Avon and were also the beneficiaries at last year's Institute of Directors Annual Dinner held at Aston Villa FC.
It is hoped that we will be able to reach our target figure for the Welcombe Hills School following a donation from the World Cup Fever Charity Dinner in May 2006. |
