| Herts Regional Golf Day |

| It was another successful golf day for the Herts region of Spoon, raising $3000 for local disadvantaged children. |

The Hertfordshire Regional Golf Day was held at Royston golf course on May 16th. The format was for teams of 4 players, who enjoyed their golf and the facilities on the course ( 2 free drinks tents ), plus a wonderful buffet meal in the clubhouse afterwards. The Winners were Bob Turner and his team of Royston members, who qualify to go to St. Pierre Golf Club at Chepstow in September. The Royston Golf Club 2007 Captain Micky Hall and his team (among the prizewinners ) together with John Nicholl, the Wooden Spoon organiser. The event raised over £3000 on the day, and will go into the Hertfordshire Branch fund. Since the Branch was formed in 2003, they have spent or allocated around £200,000 on projects that benefit the disadvantaged children of the county, such as Meldreth Manor outside Royston, and the Lonsdale School at Stevenage.
